Omid Tahernia \ President & Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors
Tahernia joined Ikanos in June 2012 as the Company’s president, chief executive officer and member of the board of directors. He has over 28 years of experience in leading global high technology organizations and businesses providing systems and semiconductor solutions – both in the U.S. and abroad. Most recently, Tahernia served as President and CEO of Tilera Corporation, a leading multicore privately held company. During his tenure at Tilera, he led the company through its market emergence and drove the company business and product strategy while growing revenue in core market segments of Networking, Security, Multimedia, and Cloud Computing. Prior to Tilera, Mr. Tahernia spent three years at Xilinx, where he was Vice President and General Manager of a newly created DSP Division and later served as Vice President and General Manager of the Processing Solutions Group consisting of DSP, Embedded Processing, and IP Divisions. Prior to Xilinx, Tahernia spent 21 years at Motorola in both the equipment and semiconductor segments. He held a variety of positions at Motorola including running a nearly $1 billion wireless chipset business in the company’s Semiconductor unit, as Vice President and General Manager of the Wireless and Mobile Systems Division. Mr. Tahernia holds more than ten U.S. patents, a B.S.E.E. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, and an M.S.E.E. from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Kourosh Amiri \ Vice President of Marketing
With more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Amiri has been responsible for the successful introduction of products targeting a range of applications in the networking, communications, and consumer segments. He joined Ikanos on February 2013 to lead the company’s global marketing and product strategy.

Amiri joins Ikanos from Cavium, where he led marketing and business development for its emerging media processor group, and drove the strategy for turning Cavium into a leading supplier of wireless display media processors in multiple market segments, including smartphones and PC accessories. Prior to joining Cavium, Amiri held senior marketing and business development roles at Freescale and several venture-backed semiconductor start-ups, addressing a wide range of networking and media processing applications. Amiri has an MSEE from Stanford University and a BSEE from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Dennis Bencala Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance
Bencala joined Ikanos in June 2010 and is the Company’s CFO and vice president of finance. Bencala most recently served as CFO of the Renewable Energy Test Center from October 2009 to June 2010. From January 2000 to December 2009, Bencala served as corporate controller and then CFO of SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc., a fabless GPS semiconductor company. From September 1995 to December 1999, Bencala served as corporate controller of ScanVision Inc., a fabless image sensor design company. Bencala holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from San Diego State University.

Robert  Dunnigan \ Vice President, Operations
Robert Dunnigan joined Ikanos in September 2012 as Vice President, Operations. “Bob” has over 29 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, leading global engineering, manufacturing and operations teams. Most recently, Dunnigan worked for Cypress Semiconductor and held positions of VP of NVSRAM and Sr. Director of Operations. Prior to Cypress, he spent two years at Sigmatel as VP of Design Services and managed chip integration as well as IP and EDA strategies and procurement. Dunnigan also spent 22 years in Motorola’s Memory and Baseband Semiconductor Divisions, holding positions of product engineer, Business Unit manager and Technology Development Director. He has significant knowledge in the areas of CMOS Semiconductor manufacturing, design, test and supply chain management.

Stu Krometis \ Vice President of World Wide Sales
With more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Stu Krometis has a successful track record in selling highly integrated SOCs for networking and consumer applications. He has managed major global accounts and led sales teams in North America, Europe, and Asia. Krometis joined Ikanos on May 6th 2013 as vice president of world wide sales to lead the company’s global sales and applications engineering teams.

Prior to Ikanos, Mr. Krometis was responsible for Global Accounts and EMEA sales for the Networking Communications Division and Broadband Consumer Divisions at Cavium. He also led all sales activities in the Asia-Pacific region as vice president of APAC sales residing in Singapore. Before joining Cavium, Krometis served in various sales roles at AMCC, including Cisco global account management. He has a BBA from Roanoke College.

Jim Murphy Vice President, Worldwide Human Resources
Murphy joined Ikanos in June 2010 and is responsible for the Company’s strategic vision for global human resources including talent acquisition, employee and organization development, and rewards. Murphy specializes in creating high performing organizations and joined Ikanos from CSR plc where he was vice president, human resources for North America and Asia-Pacific. He joined CSR via its acquisition of SiRF Technology where he was vice president, worldwide human resources. Prior to joining SiRF, Murphy held executive and management human resources positions at LSI, National Semiconductor, and Fairchild Semiconductor. Murphy holds a B.A. from Lawrence University and a M.B.A. in Organization Behavior from the University of Michigan.

Debajyoti Pal Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President
A 30-year veteran in the communication and semiconductor industry and a DSL pioneer, Pal has extensive experience identifying and developing new technologies and products. Pal has a proven record of successfully bringing products from concept phase through product delivery. Prior to joining Ikanos, Pal spent over five years at Tallwood Venture Capital in a variety of roles including chief technology officer and executive in residence. Prior to joining Tallwood, Pal founded Telicos Corporation. Before Telicos, Pal founded Excess Bandwidth Corporation, an xDSL physical layer chipset company that was acquired by Virata Corporation. At Virata, Pal was responsible for xDSL physical layer technology and IC product development. Before Excess Bandwidth, Pal held key senior technical and technical management positions at Amati Communications (acquired by Texas Instruments) which pioneered DMT- based ADSL and VDSL technologies. Prior to Amati, Pal held senior technical positions at AT&T Bell Laboratories and Intel Corporation, where he was on the design team of the world famous 80286-microprocessor.

Pal has made seminal contributions to electrical engineering and applied mathematics. 1n 1982 he introduced the concept and theory of Balanced Stochastic Realizations that advanced the field of control theory. And in 1990, Pal developed the first solution to the long-standing open problem of finding a fast (O (n2)) algorithm for factorization of a Toeplitz matrix with an arbitrary rank profile. Pal holds seven U.S. patents, has published more than 30 technical papers, and is a Fellow of the IEEE. Pal is a Consulting Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University.

Pal received a B.Tech. (Hons.) Degree in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering (ECE) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India; a M.S.E.E. degree from Washington State University; and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, under the guidance of Professor Thomas Kailath, renowned for his influence on many areas of electrical engineering and applied mathematics. In addition, Pal holds an elected position as a Charter Member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs).

Syrus Ziai Vice President, Worldwide Engineering
Ziai is responsible for the Company’s engineering activity including VLSI, hardware, and software and firmware development. Ziai has over 22 years of research and product development experience in the semiconductor and venture capital industries. Prior to joining Ikanos, Ziai was entrepreneur in residence at Tallwood Venture Capital. Prior to Tallwood, Ziai was CEO at Qspeed Semiconductor and CEO at Collinear Corporation. He was also VLSI design manager at Hewlett Packard from 1988 to 2000. Ziai received his B.S.E.E. from Rice University and M.S.E.E. from Stanford University.
