John Quigley \ Chief Executive Officer and President

Quigley was appointed CEO and President in August 2010. Quigley has over 20 years of research and product development experience in the semiconductor and wireless products industry. Prior to joining Ikanos, Quigley was senior vice president at Cambridge Silicon Radio which acquired SiRF Technology where Quigley was the senior vice president general manager of the wireless business unit. Prior to SiRF, Quigley was the vice president of Engineering for Airgo Networks (now Qualcomm). Quigley also held the positions of global director for Motorola Semiconductor Radio Product Design Operations and manager of Motorola’s Low Power Circuits and Systems Research Lab. Quigley received his B.S. and M.S.E.E. from Colorado State University, has 9 issued patents and over 21 publications and conference presentations.


Dennis Bencala \ Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance

Bencala joined Ikanos in June 2010 and is the Company’s CFO and vice president of finance. Bencala most recently served as CFO of the Renewable Energy Test Center from October 2009 to June 2010. From January 2000 to December 2009, Bencala served as corporate controller and then CFO of SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc., a fabless GPS semiconductor company. From September 1995 to December 1999, Bencala served as corporate controller of ScanVision Inc., a fabless image sensor design company. Bencala holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from San Diego State University.


Debajyoti Pal \ Chief Technology Officer

A 28-year veteran in the communication and semiconductor industry and a DSL pioneer, Pal has extensive experience identifying and developing new technologies and products. Pal has a proven record of successfully bringing products from concept phase through product delivery. Prior to joining Ikanos, Pal spent over five years at Tallwood Venture Capital in a variety of roles including chief technology officer and executive in residence. Prior to joining Tallwood, Pal founded Telicos Corporation. Before Telicos, Pal founded Excess Bandwidth Corporation, an xDSL physical layer chipset company that was acquired by Virata Corporation. At Virata, Pal was responsible for xDSL physical layer technology and IC product development. Before Excess Bandwidth, Pal held key senior technical and technical management positions at Amati Communications (acquired by Texas Instruments) which pioneered DMT- based ADSL and VDSL technologies. Prior to Amati, Pal held senior technical positions at AT&T Bell Laboratories and Intel Corporation, where he was on the design team of the world famous 80286-microprocessor.

Pal has made seminal contributions to electrical engineering and applied mathematics. 1n 1982 he introduced the concept and theory of Balanced Stochastic Realizations that advanced the field of control theory. And in 1990, Pal developed the first solution to the long-standing open problem of finding a fast (O (n2)) algorithm for factorization of a Toeplitz matrix with an arbitrary rank profile. Pal holds seven U.S. patents, has published more than 30 technical papers, and is a Fellow of the IEEE. Pal is a Consulting Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University.

Pal received a B.Tech. (Hons.) Degree in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering (ECE) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India; a M.S.E.E. degree from Washington State University; and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, under the guidance of Professor Thomas Kailath, renowned for his influence on many areas of electrical engineering and applied mathematics. In addition, Pal holds an elected position as a Charter Member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs).


Bernard Glasauer \ Vice President of Operations

Glasauer is a semiconductor, IP and systems industry executive with extensive technical and business management experience bringing both disruptive technologies and commodity products to market. Prior to joining Ikanos, where he’s responsible for global operations, IT, quality, program management and facilities/real estate, Glasauer was chief operating officer at Tzero Technologies. Before Tzero, Glasauer held senior-level engineering, General Manager/P&L, operations and R&D positions at ARC plc, Cypress Semiconductor, GlobespanVirata and Siliquent. Glasauer earned a B.A. degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a double major B.S. degree in electrical engineering/computer science and materials science engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.


Mitch Kahn \ Vice President of Corporate Development

As vice president of corporate development, Kahn brings more than 15 years of high-level marketing experience from his work at a variety of successful private and midcap semiconductor and systems companies. At Ikanos, Kahn leads the Company’s global strategy and manages all outbound marketing activities. Prior to joining Ikanos in July 2008, Kahn held vice president of marketing positions at Applied Micro Circuits Corp., Quake Technologies Inc., Silicon Access Networks Ltd., Virata Corp. and Galileo Technology, Inc. Kahn also held president and founder positions at Wallflower Systems, Inc. and president and chief operating officer positions at V3 Semiconductor Corp. Kahn started his career at Intel Corp., where he held various engineering and marketing management positions. Kahn holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Lehigh University.


Michael Kelly \ Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Kelly joined Ikanos in July 2010 as the Company’s vice president of worldwide sales, and brings with him more than 30 years of sales experience in the semiconductor and electronics industry. From July 2009 to July 2010, Kelly served as vice president of sales at SiRF, a CSR plc Company. At SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc., prior to the CSR merger, Kelly held a number of sales management positions from 1998 to 2009, including vice president of worldwide sales. From 1996 to 1998, Kelly served as director of OEM sales and director of worldwide distribution sales at Alliance Semiconductor. From 1985 to 1996, Kelly held various sales management roles at NEC Electronics including national sales manager and strategic account manager.


Jim Murphy \ Vice President, Worldwide Human Resources
Murphy joined Ikanos in June 2010 and is responsible for the Company’s strategic vision for global human resources including talent acquisition, employee and organization development, and rewards. Murphy specializes in creating high performing organizations and joined Ikanos from CSR plc where he was vice president, human resources for North America and Asia-Pacific. He joined CSR via its acquisition of SiRF Technology where he was vice president, worldwide human resources. Prior to joining SiRF, Murphy held executive and management human resources positions at LSI, National Semiconductor, and Fairchild Semiconductor. Murphy holds a B.A. from Lawrence University and a M.B.A. in Organization Behavior from the University of Michigan.

Syrus Ziai \ Vice President, Worldwide Engineering

Ziai is responsible for the Company’s engineering activity including VLSI, hardware, and software and firmware development. Ziai has over 22 years of research and product development experience in the semiconductor and venture capital industries. Prior to joining Ikanos, Ziai was entrepreneur in residence at Tallwood Venture Capital. Prior to Tallwood, Ziai was CEO at Qspeed Semiconductor and CEO at Collinear Corporation. He was also VLSI design manager at Hewlett Packard from 1988 to 2000. Ziai received his B.S.E.E. from Rice University and M.S.E.E. from Stanford University.
